Browsing and decision analytics

We use Vercel Web Analytics for public-page traffic and first-party events to understand guide views, finder use, comparison choices, scoring presets, and retailer clicks. First-party decision events can include a randomly generated session identifier, product or comparison identifiers, and the selected preset. The session identifier is kept in browser session storage. Our Vercel analytics integration removes URL query strings and fragments and excludes account and administration paths.

Community voting and browser storage

A secure voting cookie helps recognize a browser and prevent duplicate votes. The cookie can last up to one year. Voting records associate a hashed browser identifier with the comparison, voting dimension, and chosen product. This is browser-based participation, not verified real-world identity. Clearing storage can affect voting recognition.

Browser storage may also remember that you requested another comparison. Account sign-in uses authentication cookies managed by Supabase.

Retailer links

Offer redirects record which product, comparison, and offer sent a visitor to a retailer. Those offer-click records do not contain an IP address, email address, or browser user-agent string. Affiliate networks and retailers may use their own tracking and privacy practices. Retailers handle payment information; Bettr Than does not receive payment details through the redirect.

Service providers and retention

Vercel hosts the production website and Supabase provides database and authentication services. Providers may process technical request information to deliver and protect their services. We retain operational records to run voting, review catalog changes, understand use, and investigate abuse; the application does not promise an automatic deletion schedule for every record.

Your choices and requests

You can control cookies and browser storage in your browser and choose whether to follow retailer links. Restricting storage may affect features such as voting. Email us about access, correction, or deletion requests. Include enough context to locate the relevant information without sending passwords or payment information; some anonymous records may not be attributable to a named person.
